Cats can get angry or upset in different situations.

Hissing:

When a cat hisses, it's a clear sign that they're feeling threatened or upset. Hissing is a warning to stay away and can be accompanied by flattened ears and an arched back.

Swatting:

If a cat feels provoked or cornered, they may swat with their paw as a defensive reaction. This can be accompanied by growling or snarling, and it's a clear indication that the cat is feeling angry or scared.

Avoidance:

When a cat is upset, they may choose to avoid their humans altogether. They may retreat to a hiding place or refuse to come out from under the bed. Avoidance is a way for cats to express their displeasure and to show that they need some space and time to calm down.
